The Story of Polé™

A game of balance, bravado, and the perfect throw.

Polé™ is a modern outdoor game of balance, bravado, and the perfect throw—played with a single pole, a balanced horn, and silicone rings. It exists to bottle that split-second wobble before something topples, turning it into a shared moment people can shout “OLÉ!” over again and again.

Long before Polé™ became a modern backyard and bar-room sensation, it began as a simple gesture— a ring tossed at a lone post in the ground.

According to legend, the game traces its roots to rural Spain, where young spectators of bullfighting would mimic the drama of the arena using nothing more than a stick, a bent piece of metal, and whatever circular objects they could find. The challenge was always the same:

Could they knock the “horns” off the post with a perfectly placed throw?

The moment the horns toppled, cheers of “Olé!” echoed across fields and alleyways.

Over time, this improvised pastime became an unofficial ritual— a friendly test of aim, balance, patience, and flair.

From “Olé!” to Polé™

The founders of Polé discovered this tradition while traveling through small towns known for their fierce festivals and bold culture. They noticed how the children’s improvised game captured the same suspense, finesse, and celebration as the bullring—but without any of the danger or tradition’s harsher realities.

It was pure joy, distilled into:

  • a pole,
  • a pair of horns,
  • and a single ring in flight.

That iconic moment—the curve of a horn tipping, the whole structure wobbling, that breathless pause before it falls—became the inspiration for the modern Polé logo. The symbol encapsulates everything the game offers:

  • The curved brass line = the horns
  • The circle = the ring
  • The space between them = the suspense

Polé is more than a game. It's a visual moment, a feeling frozen in time: the instant just before the horns topple.

The Modern Game

Today’s Polé retains the essence of its roots while elevating the experience with precision-made materials:

The Polé Post

A sleek, minimal stake that stands as the “arena.”

The Horns

A balanced brass sculpture, engineered to pivot and tip when hit with just the right force. Light touches won’t knock it down. Perfect throws will.

The Rings

Soft silicone rings—bracelet-sized, collectible, brandable, and bar-friendly—designed to give every throw that satisfying “snap-and-hang” feeling.

The name Polé™ merges: Pole → the center stake. Olé → the cheer that erupts when the horns fall. Together, they form a word that sounds playful, stylish, and unmistakably tied to its origin.

A Game of Skill, Not Strength

Like horseshoes or cornhole, Polé is easy to learn. But unlike either, balance is the great equalizer.

A ring that hits too hard? The horns won't fall—they’ll stabilize.

A ring that lands too soft? It hangs, teases the crowd… then slips off.

Only the perfect throw—gentle, intentional, balanced—creates the “tip.” That’s where the thrill lives.

Polé in Pubs, Backyards & Events

What sets Polé apart is its versatility.

Backyards

Ideal for family gatherings, summer parties, and friendly competition.

Bars & Breweries

The rings double as drink-can sleeves or wristbands— turning players into walking promotion for venues. Customers keep them as souvenirs.

Events & Festivals

Crowd-friendly, loud, and addictive to watch.

Corporate Teams

Balance + precision = perfect metaphor for team building.

Polé is universal. Wherever people gather, they cheer when the horns fall.

The Polé Philosophy

Beneath the playful exterior lies a set of values:

Balance.

The horns won’t fall unless the throw is perfect. A reminder that small actions create big impact.

Precision.

Success requires intention—not force. A gentle touch wins.

Anticipation.

That iconic wobble before the horns drop is the essence of fun.

Celebration.

Every fall is a reason to shout, laugh, and high-five. It is a shared moment—just like the “Olé!” of old.

The Icon

The Polé icon—a wavy line hovering above a ring—captures the entire game in a single glance.

The curve hints at the brass horns tipping.

The circle suggests the thrown ring in mid-air.

The space between them is the wobble—that breathless instant before everything falls.

Together, they create a symbol of motion, skill, and that heart-stopping moment right before the cheer.

When you see it, you know a perfectly balanced throw (and a loud “OLÉ!”) is close.
